What is an IEEE Certified Software Development Professional?

IEEE Certified

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers certifies engineers through its Computer Society to become Certified Software Development Professionals. Obtaining this certification requires all of the following:

  • a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree
  • a minimum of 9,000 hours of software engineering experience within specific knowledge areas
  • passing of an examination demonstrating mastery of a Body of Knowledge
  • continuing professional education, measured and relevant to the Body of Knowledge
Only a handful of software professionals worldwide have passed the IEEE Computer Society Certified Software Development Professional exam and hold the CSDP certificate. Working with a CSDP certified engineer means you are working with the "best of the best" and can rest assured that they have the qualifications to do the job right.
